“Onchain” describes activity that happens directly on a blockchain: transactions, application logic, and data recorded on a distributed ledger rather than in a private database. When a company “goes onchain,” it moves parts of its product, payments, assets, records, onto blockchain infrastructure, gaining transparency, programmability, and interoperability in exchange for new operational requirements.
