Direct Connect works from AWS or Google Cloud. Clients in GCP asia-northeast1 are ~1 ms faster, as our infrastructure is in GCP.
Security
You generate a client certificate and send us only the public certificate. You also give us your fixed outbound IP addresses. We accept only connections that match both, and then give you a dedicated hostname to use.
What stays the same
Every request still goes through our RPC layer, so nobody gets direct access to the sequencer. Direct Connect doesn't change transaction ordering, and it doesn't add revert protection. Transactions are already private, because there is no public mempool.
